Once Upon a Tear, long ago (circa 2008), a bright-eyed and bushy-tailed mini-me waltzed into the office of Wood Newton at RCA Records in Nashville, TN. At age 15, I completed my first ever co-write - with a lyrical legend, at that.
Many people don't know the names of songwriters, but I'm sure you've heard some of his songs.
Writing with Wood was an honor that gave me so much motivation and encouragement to never let this part of myself go.
I write because I have to. It's my release... and as the saying goes, "don't die with it in you" - by which I mean the music & your unique expression.
Don't be dirty.

"Once Upon a Tear" was a song-child of the shared emotions of a 15-year-old girl and a 70-year-old man. We all lose people in life - we all feel that pain.
However, we also all have memories we can chose to cherish and share that allow our past loved ones live on through us and the stories we share.
15 years later, I've finally recorded it and am so happy to be able to share it with you!
